The Antigua and Barbuda Falcons are heading to their first Caribbean Premier League final after producing a devastating nine-wicket victory over the Guyana Amazon Warriors at Kensington Oval.
Shadab Khan claimed a sensational hat-trick, Sufyan Moqim collected four wickets and Rahkeem Cornwall unleashed a brutal 16-ball 49 as the Falcons completed the second-fastest victory in CPL history.
It was a statement performance from the Falcons, who bowled the Warriors out for just 76 before completing the chase in only 32 deliveries.
Shadab Khan Hat-Trick Destroys Warriors
The Guyana Amazon Warriors reached 34/1 at the end of the PowerPlay after being sent in to bat, but their innings quickly collapsed against the Falcons’ spin attack.
Moqim started the destruction by removing Glenn Phillips and Mohammad Haris before Shadab took control with a stunning hat-trick of googlies.
Shimron Hetmyer was caught at long-on, Mehidy Hasan Miraz was trapped LBW and Quentin Sampson was bowled through the gate by a perfectly flighted delivery.
The remarkable sequence left the Warriors reeling at 45/6 and sparked wild celebrations among the Falcons players.
Moqim then dismissed Khary Pierre and Warriors captain Shai Hope before Shadab removed Imran Tahir to complete figures of four wickets.
Romario Shepherd briefly fought back with two boundaries, but Shamar Springer claimed the final wicket as Guyana were dismissed for only 76.
Cornwall Launches Explosive Falcons Chase
Any hopes of a Warriors comeback were quickly crushed by Rahkeem Cornwall.
The powerful opener attacked the Guyana bowlers from the beginning, taking on Tahir, Miraz and Pierre during a breathtaking PowerPlay assault.
Cornwall raced towards what could have been one of the fastest half-centuries in CPL history, but he was dismissed for 49 from just 16 balls—one run short of a memorable fifty.
By then, the damage had already been done.
Evin Lewis continued the assault despite battling cramp, smashing Shamar Joseph for 21 runs from six deliveries before hitting the winning runs.
Amir Jangoo faced only four balls during the chase as the Falcons sealed a massive nine-wicket victory with just 32 deliveries bowled.
Falcons Reach Historic First CPL Final
The victory sends the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons into their first CPL final and underlines their status as a major threat for the 2026 championship.
Their bowling attack dismantled one of the competition’s most dangerous batting line-ups, while Cornwall and Lewis showed just how destructive the Falcons can be with the bat.
The Guyana Amazon Warriors must now recover quickly before facing the Kingsmen in the final eliminator. The winner of that match will meet the in-form Falcons in Sunday’s CPL 2026 final.
After producing arguably the performance of the tournament, the Falcons are now just one victory away from lifting their first CPL crown.
