The Jamaica Kingsmen are through to the 2026 Caribbean Premier League final after chasing down a target of 207 against the Guyana Amazon Warriors at Kensington Oval. Shimron Hetmyer struck his second century of the season, but Jamaica’s batters held their nerve to set up a final against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
Guyana made a slow start, reaching 37/2 at the end of the Powerplay. Hetmyer then transformed the innings with a display of power hitting, supported by Shai Hope and Quentin Sampson. He completed his hundred from the final ball of the innings, reaching the milestone in 45 deliveries as the Warriors set Jamaica 207 to win.
Maaz Sadaqat gave the Kingsmen an explosive start, scoring 41 from just 17 balls. Keacy Carty followed with a half-century, while Kirk McKenzie helped keep the chase on track.
The Warriors fought back with the wickets of Carty, Saim Ayub and Andre Russell, turning what had looked like a comfortable chase into a tense finish. With captain Rovman Powell at the crease, Jamaica stayed composed, and Hassan Khan struck the winning boundary.
Powell has now led a Jamaican side into the CPL final once again, having done so in 2022. The Kingsmen will face the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons on Sunday in a rematch of the opening game of CPL 2026, with the title at stake.
