German football powerhouse Borussia Dortmund, ranked #8 in Europe by UEFA, is officially launching the BVB International Academy – Caribbean this week in Trinidad and Tobago. This groundbreaking move establishes T&T as the first Caribbean nation to host an official Borussia Dortmund International Academy.
🟡 Dortmund Execs Arrive This Week
A delegation of top Dortmund academy executives will arrive between July 24–25, with a media conference scheduled for Saturday, July 26 at 10:00 a.m. at Kapok Hotel. This historic launch is led locally by the Athletes and Fans Sports Village (AFSV).

📍 Official Youth Tournament:
The BVBIA Caribbean/Gatorade U-17 Challenger Cup will be held on Sunday, July 27 at CIC Grounds, Port of Spain, kicking off at 12 noon. Entry is free to the public, and it serves as the curtain-raiser to welcome Dortmund’s official presence in the region.

Andre Lawrence, Executive Director and CEO of BVBIA Caribbean, shared:
“The launch of BVB International Academy – Caribbean is a foundation-building platform for the sporting future of Trinidad and Tobago. This model opens the door to Dortmund’s School of Excellence in Germany and college scholarships via our College Athlete Placement (CAP) programme.”
