Trinidad & Tobago striker Marcus Joseph fires Mohammedan SC to first title in 40 years!

A solitary goal from Trinidad and Tobago’s Marcus Joseph ended Mohammedan SC’s 40-year wait to get their first league title since 1981 in the Calcutta Football League. The 30-year-old Trinidad & Tobago striker scored the only goal of the game against Railway FC in the final of the Premier Division A at the Salt Lake Stadium. The team also known as the “Black Panthers” got the goal in the 3rd minute of play and Railway FC was unable to respond.

Marcus “Lobo” Joseph who hails from Trinidad & Tobago currently has 7 international goals for his country and has previously played with Gokulum Kerala FC, W Connection and Central F.C.

Joseph was signed with the Kolkata-based Mohammedan SC on 7 July 2021.

After winning the title Mohammedan Sporting tweeted, “We dedicate our 12th Calcutta Football League title to our fans and supporters around the globe, who have been waiting for this day for the last 4 decades. 12th CFL title for our 12thMan.”
