Anthony Rougier Leads MLS NEXT NEFC 2009 U16 Team to Third Consecutive Northeast (East) Division Title

The NEFC U16 Boys, coached by former Trinidad & Tobago Senior Men’s Captain Anthony Rougier, are the reigning champions of the MLS NEXT Northeast (East) Division for the third consecutive year. They have once again qualified for the U16 MLS NEXT Flex Cup, which takes place in Tennessee this June—marking their second straight appearance in the prestigious tournament.

It’s worth noting that qualification for the MLS NEXT Flex Cup begins at the U15 level. This team earned their first qualification as U15s and have successfully maintained their performance as they’ve progressed to the U16 age group.

According to its official website, New England Football Club (NEFC) is a not-for-profit premier soccer organization dedicated to developing youth soccer players aged 6–23 across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. With a coaching staff of over 85 professionals, NEFC trains more than 3,000 youth players annually.
