In a shocking statement made via his official Instagram account, Trinidad & Tobago attacker Kevin Molino said goodbye the the national teams and thanked everyone for supporting him over the years. It has been reported by Wired 868 that he indicated that he had many issues with the national team setup and the head coach Angus Eve, even further elaborating by saying that he felt very depressed after the recent Concacaf Gold Cup and his current club Columbus Crew arranged for him to have therapy.
Kevin Molino has always been a tremendous attacking asset for Trinidad & Tobago and his dribbling, attacking ability, and experience for both club and country was recognized by many. Brazilian and AC Milan great Kaka once advised his former club to sign current teammate Kevin Molino as reported by Sportmediaset while he was at Orlando City. Kaka recommended Kevin Molino at the time to Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani.
Kevin Molino stated the following “This beautiful game should never feel like stress,”
Kevin was selected by Trinidad & Tobago head coach Angus Eve for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League Match against Curacao (September 7) and El Salvador (September 10). How will this affect the team’s preparations moving forward remains to be seen, however, followers of the “Soca Warriors” will now for the moment have to say goodbye to the star man. However whether intended or not Kevin Molino ambiguously did say the following “Now, that dream has come to an end. It’s time to say goodbye for now.”
So perhaps the door is not completely close on the national team, time will tell.
